Entire Joe Satriani studio album catalog remastered and released in a box set.
It's already out and I just found out about it. I suck!
Even the latest album from last year was polish-remastered for good measure and with reported, good results.
It's reported that DR compression was optimized along with "selective" EQ pecking, producing more open & detailed results.
Better yet, the hired hand - remastering engineer - is John Cuniberti, who worked with Joe through the years.
It gets more interesting as John jumped into the Steve Hoffman forums and candidly answers questions from regular folk.
Plus John seems regular enough to me too and is very open about his "take" on listener perceptions and his own recording/engineering techniques without giving away trade secrets.

As a side note, the whole catalog was remastered in 96/24 for the FLAC and then down-mastered to 44.1 / 16bit Red Book for this disc set.\
Which means it is available in purely digital file-format.
