As many here are watching Alone and seeing the inclement weather on the west coast you may find an other side to our robust province. We are currently on fire through the mid section of the province. I have just returned from a hail marry trip out our lake house. About 20 miles from it is 10,000 acre fire. The trip involved going around the evacuation zone through back logging roads. With trailer in tow the trip took almost twice as long 5.5 hours turned to 8.5. As all but one Neibour had left our piece of paradise due to smoke and the possibility of being trapped without exit I decided to make trip to clean out the fridge and freezer, pick up my tractor and take a detailed photo inventory of the place, a thing we talked about over the years but never did. I got ther at 10 in the evening and was on the road home by 10:30 am. Shortest trip I will ever make there.

The community is hampered by no food fuel or even garbage. The transfer station was closed so people would leave their shit at the gate. Well the bears loved this idea. Good people of the area clean it up and more less is under control.

We we are waiting for rain without lightening and that may take a while.

My my wife's family homestead is in the Chilcolton and that is really a mess. About 200,000 acres on fire. 0% contained with full evacuation in place, so no going there. We hope for the best.

British Columbia, the Land Of Fire And Ice. And people never realize that if the bears come and forage and the fire sweeps through...good luck and god speed for at least the third year in Canada.

I wish you much luck and that your house is spared, the whole half of the continent is on fire, from down here to up there :sad5:

I hope you take some time to clear any dry brush within 500ft of the house and out buildings...leave a nice note and non perishable treat on the front porch for any firefighters that come to your property
