Geri and I love B.B. King. He is my favourite blues musician. He leaves quite a legacy in the form of the music he has played and recorded. My all-time favourite album is "Live At The Apollo." Goodbye King of the Blues.

I'll always remember an outdoor show he played right on the edge of the Mississippi on a hot summer night in St. Louis. He was wonderful, swatting flies and sweating while he sang and played Lucille. I'm sure he left a lot of memories for a lot of people.

I remember to my first Sous Chef Position at Embassy Suites in Schaumburg Ill and BB Kings Tour Bus pulled into the back parking lot. BB was appearing with the likes of CoCo Taylor, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy along with others. I walked outside to get a better look at the Bus and struck up a conversation with BBs tour Manager. I Cooked him up a Burger and fries and he asked me if I was into the Blues at all I said of Course, Later on that evening I cooked BB Grilled Salmon with Steamed Veggies and Baby Red Potatoes. The next day I got his Tour manager came into the kitchen and Handed me 2 Front row seats along with backstage passes, I thanked him and asked if I could get BBs autograph he said sure I'll call the kitchen when BB leaves and you can come out and meet him and get an autograph,COOL sure enough the call came in and I grabbed a fresh menu and met BB in the lobby he was wearing a brown suit and a Blue baseball hat I asked for the autograph told him how much I enjoyed his Music and Shook his hand. I wasn't able to go to the show but I called my son who came by the hotel got the tickets and attended the show
Iv'e cooked for a few big names in Show Business but always remembered The kindness that was shown to me
RIP Mister King
