All these years and I never noticed the difference in the PL700B faceplates. Is yours a righty or a lefty?
Hint - look at the meter sensitivity switch labels...
(I hope there is not a thread on this, I would feel dumb)

When did they make this change, and why? Calling Ed Blackwell. Hey Ed...

Before my time then...
My meters are more sensitive in the 0DB position in the Aerosmith PL700B #3. Does this mean my faceplate and switch are a mis-match?
Lee, do you have different switches? I can only remember seeing one type.

That's a drum switch, then there are the wafer switches. Yes, I have both.

Yes the faceplates were matched to the switch type, that is all there is to it. Availability of the switch at the time. The most prevalent has the -20dB sensitivity position on the right and o dB on the left.

That means that you have a mismatch between faceplate and switch installed.

What does your faceplate front look like around the switch.

The classic mismatch. This amp has the drum type switch, looks like I need the wafer type switch. Lee, what is the going rate for a wafer switch?
The more rare 0DB on the right, a true collector's item.
I wish we knew when the change took place - dater or serial number range.

Like, which switch was which?
This is just a theory based on my recent experience. If your faceplate has 0DB on the Left side of the Meter Attenuation Knob and -20DB on the Right side, you should have the "drum type" switch. If your PL700B reads the opposite on the faceplate, you should be sporting the "wafer type" meter attenuation switch.
