I'm talking to a guy on eBay who can get the replacement MOSFETS for the Hafler DH-500 and P-500, but he needs a minimum order of 20 pairs to order for me. The amp uses 8 pairs, so if a couple of people need them, we can get them. They are $30.00 per pair and that is matched..

The original Hitachi devices were 2SK176 and 2SJ56 and the replacements (I think) are BUZ 901 and BUZ906..They appear to have been used successfully in a bunch of Haflers. He has the devices for DH-200 and P-220 amps, but orders these from England and will have to pay VAT, shipping, and then match them when they arrive.

If anyone has another source for these, please let me know! And if there is any interest, let me know..

Is he in the states? If so no VAT unless he is in Europe some where. I never paid VAT. Trust me if I was suppose to I would have.

"I am only guess, but figure around 30.00 a pr by the time I pay VAT and shipping. This would be based on 20 pr. They would not match and I have to purchase 2000.00 min order. I usually order 240 devices once a year and will order early if you can assure 20 sets which I have to buy twice that amount to match. Let me know. Thanks, Ed"

This is a copy of his email to me..He is a company and whereas an individual may not have to pay, his company might....I'm just repeating what I was told...

His eBay name is qua-co if you want to check him out, or see other stuff he has for sale...

When I get my shells from Alan I pay no VAT. We had a problem when I shipped him metal shells. They were going to charge him a VAT; but I sent a letter saying they were mine. So no VAT. I am a company also. Now when I sent Phoenix tapes there. They collected a VAT when they got there. Depending on the shipping. He may get a tariff coming through customs. Got hit coming from Canada a couple times. That is a big pain.

Sutton those are Semelab part numbers and are very robust devices. Tre double die version of that part number is what I need for my 500watt mosfet monoblocs, and the minimum order is for 100 pairs at 18.00 a pair, so youir guy probably speaks the truth.
Semelab is anal about minimum orders and I haven't found a supplier on this side of the pond that will sell in quantities of less than 100 pair.

I have read nothng in the manual of G. Randy Sloans on the mosfet monoblocs that would see a need to match. It is my understanding that the Semelab devices are pretty damn close coming off the line, and for that price---should be.

So Lee,

How close are you to being ready to get the Semelab devices for your monoblocks? Maybe we could combine the order or something. I have contacted another person selling Exicon devices on eBay who is in the states, but I've heard nothing back from him. Mark may determine the MOSFETs are not the problem anywy, but until we know for sure...

Both of the amps with the problems are Kevin's, so I don't know whay I'm chasing the devices so freaking hard...just trying to get him fixed up I guess..
