Yesterday the Dell started sayin' "Your password will expire in 12 days, would you like to replace it? "

This is what happened the last time. I mean can I trust the machine? I don't screw up often, and the last time I changed passwords I got screwed ROYALY!!!!

Why is it asking me to do this????

Can I change this one to permanant status?

Perhaps you should tell us

Program/Operating System/Dell crap/who's junk is it?

The "CIA" would be ME.. and it's a simple thing to fix..

Right click my computer, manage

On the left, expand local users and groups, then select users

On the right, find your user name and double click

Check the option that says (drumroll...) "password never expires".

Easy squeezy, eh?

I've been using the free version of avast on one of my computers for years and it works great. I also can recommend MS Security Essentials as I have been using it on another computer for over a year without any issues.

The Avast free version needs to be re-registered every year, not a big deal. The MS SE is free and supported by MS so it is also a good one to use. :thumbright:

I have used the free versions before. I found they slowed my computer down. Don't know why but they did. The Avast was 33.00 for 3 computers. I will never use Mcafee again. It loaded a bunch of stuff onto my computer and I couldn't get rid of some of it. I run a few other things also. Just to clean and defrag when I want. I usually don't buy them unless I get a deal. I always check them out on Cnet before I buy any thing.
