This past Wednesday, I dropped by Innovative Audio to pick up my repaired Pioneer RT-707. Gordon had saved a special take-up reel for me. Recently, Gordon had picked up hundreds of open reel tape and accessories from a neighbouring province, Alberta. On the same trip he brought back a pair of Accoustat 2+2 speakers for a price even a thrifter like me couldn't dream of. So, for a donation to the store's coffee fund I came out with a mint Technics RP-10A 10.5" take-up reel in black, and four sealed cassettes with their original price markings on the wrapper. $3 for a Sony Metal SR 90, back then!

The other 22 7" reels were free, and I'm glad I was there at the right time to take them off Gordon's hands.

Although the open reel tapes have been gifted, I have to be cautious on their use. After inspecting them, I may play them back on an older player. I damaged one set of heads on my RT-707 because of used tape, namely, a reel of Ampex Grand Master.

Thanks Scorp. Seems to me you have something my reel would mount to. And how has your Technics R2R been treating you?

I can imagine those CBC tapes rolling onto the Vancouver airwaves. Maybe I HEARD them!

The brown 7" data-style? case with the window is awesome too!

I'll post more pictures once I begin playing the tapes, Steven.

After picking up my Pioneer PL-630 turntable from Innovative Audio, last Saturday, Gordon had to show me these. I donated more money to his coffee fund to snag these puppies: 20 5" sealed reels of Realistic Supertape.

Yowsa! Isn't that the tape Braxus aka Scott likes?
Yes, he certainly does! As of yesterday, I couldn't access my account after logging onto Tapeheads, probably, because of I've been inactive there for awhile. Lee had the same issue, as I do, and I'll have to see how he rectified it. I could e-mail Scorpion.

Who really knows the reason? I'm not happy about losing my account status as I've been a healthy contributor for some time, before these past two months.

As far as I how I feel about my membership account status being invalid, it would be the administrator`s loss, not mine.

Nando, could you believe, des did not request a donation of me????
Lee, how did you reactivate your account? I thought my lack of recent posts at THs caused my account status to lapse.

Unless your avatar says Banned beneath it I think you so just ask nicely. Scorpion8 isn't banned of course. Sometimes your password needs to be changed after a long period, or your cookies should be cleared . Servers get updated and URL sets are introduced to thwart spammers..

Bike Forums was hacked the other day (apparently a benign attack) and TH uses v3 of the same software. I would honestly ask Jim at least and Jerry.

PS This is not uncommon with vBulletin occasionally.
