I was working on the front brake of my step-daughter's mountain bike this evening. As I usually do, I plugged in the 35-watt iron to put a bit of solder on the end of the cable, so that it would not fray. I laid down a sheet of cardboard so hot solder would not damage the shop rug (it's a Karastan), soldered, and without me thinking about it, my bare foot wandered into a splash of hot solder. Shoes, people!
