ADS L1290- anyone have experience with these?

My ADS L1290s from the mid 1980s could probably stand to have the crossovers recapped. They still sound great, maybe slightly crisp in the midrange, but I wonder if a recap would smooth things out a bit.

There's not much literature out there on any ADS speaker systems, looking especially for schematics for cap values before ripping the suckers apart. My guess is that the crossover is mounted to the terminal plate that removes with what looks like torx screws.

I have the series 1 systems, bought before the series 2 were introduced.

Didn't Ken Kantor have a hand in that design?? I INC he did and he posts on AK as Ken Kantor. I'd start a thread there on this subject. Ken is very personable and will probably respond to any question on them.

Standing waves. Moved the speakers forward, brought a lot of the bass back.

Cheapest and sometimes the best upgrade is just moving the speakers. Hope that fixed em for you.
