Reports say that Malcolm Young has dementia and no longer has any short-term memory, and his wife has placed him in an elder care facility, according to this Yahoo posting from AFP:

AC/DC members have firmly stated the band will NOT fold. Family relative Stevie Young has replaced Malcolm in the lineup, although it's hard to convince one that Malcolm is replaceable.
AC/DC's latest album, Rock Or Bust, will be released in December and is the Stevie's first album with the band since Malcolm's retirement was announced several months ago.
