A good way to check out Quad but also completely compatible in 2 channel. I would recommend a wet cleaning prior to play with any new addition to your collection

Rick Wakeman - The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table original A&M QU-54515 released in 1975. Record EX w/ one possible sleeve surface scuff (It may just be a left over wet brush mark from previous cleaning) Gorgeous gatefold w/ clean spine

J Geils Band - Nightmares original Atlantic QD 18107 DWJ master, jacket VG++, record the same displaying only minor surface sleeve scuffing VG++. This is the 1974 release

$15 shipped in the US for the pair, please post SOLD and PM me your shipping info

Both come in protective polycovers to preserve the condition of the jackets

I can ship to Canada for $15 more

PayPal please to: topeliminator@earthlink.net

I would like to say SOLD? Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell need company. PM coming.

In case you are wondering, I have a JVC quad receiver for that. It flat out kicks a QX-8000 in the butt, I have to baby it though because of things like the dial lighting PCB was cracked and the dial cord isn't back on. 4VR-5456 has dual 5-band SEA though and I really love it. It will play CD-4, SQ, QS and RM as I recall.

I didn't realize Rick Wakeman was available in quad!

And CD-4 (QuadraDisc) is a bit trickier than the matrixed formats...

The rear channel information is placed on top of the stereo channels much like DSL is an add on to the phone signal. You need to have a better needle (like Shibata type) to make the most of it and unlike the matrixed formats wear takes out the rear channel information first.

You have to treat them with care.

My Teac A-2340 can preserve the recordings in 4-channel format. Til I get the necessary conditions to do this the recordings are stored. I have stereo copies of many of them, as well as a 7 inch demo record (they came with quad phonos etc labeled under the manufacturer's brand, don't recall for certain but I think they were mostly the same but for insert name here.

Here is a new in box JVC 4MD-20X CD-4 cartridge with a low hours (50) Shibata needle for around $122 in Canada. The needle replacement is Audiotechnica 12/13/14. This is what I need to shoot for and at the moment there are only a lot of really expensive new cart/needle combos and multipacks, mostly from the same guy with a warehouse and big prices.

If I had one I would be swapping it with normal one for the stereo records.
