And the B-17 said, "We've been flying a mighty long time and we're thirsty. What have you got"?

The P-51 had a V-12 built by Packard under license from Rolls-Royce. It was a P-51B. I'll post pics in a bit.

For 450.00 you could ride in one of the bombers for 30 min. For 1800.00 you could ride in the 51 for an hour.

Lee: great pictures of vintage aircraft!

Stuwee: do you collect or build models of any of these aircraft? $20 for a jump is a sign of a weak U.S. economy, for sure.

Nando.

In the end Franklin was building the V-12s. They were cheaper with the same performance. Go around Bakersfield the are every where. We cheated once for one of them. We cerma-coated the head. After it was ran you couldn't tell. It increased the compression ratio. I was asked to be on the crew at Reno. I passed. All I would get is room and board. And all I would do is polish the plane. LOL Not my cup of tea. LOL The radiator holds 50 gals of water. The B-18 was it a Beech? If so it has been modded with a nose gear. The original was a tail dragger. There is also a mod to put PT-6s on her.. When they ran the radial engines there were 2 55 gal drums of oil in the plane so they could add oil during flight. They used some oil. They had hand pumps on the drums.

Larry

Larry, should have seen the puddles of oil under each engine.

Web, thats Kaleb, should have seen the guy takin the pics, he looked worse. We pulled in to the airport with a 30 foot goose neck on my Sterling with a load of pipe on it. Just comin in from the field.
