I assumed this the first time and continue to be of the opinion that this is overheated and needs to be replaced.

Some sort of funky diode thing. I’ve been googling but not getting far trying to find a replacement for it.

Can anyone help?

There are so few components on this board I am tempted to do a full scale rebuild on it.

Speed adjust pot is also suspect, but the crispy one is for 45RPM and I had 33 runaway on me…

Local place had one!

I also got new diodes for the rectifier- those look warm too.

Pots are 2 ohm so I’ll see about a pair of those from Mouser.

Ordered pots on eBay. Mouser doesn’t have them.

Also replaced C1- I had one on hand 32V rated I think it was. So that and D1-5 all got replaced too.

Cleaned and then F5 treated the speed trim pots. While I wait for the new ones to arrive.

Seems to run well now

All the other capacitors arrived today. Once the pots are in, I'll tear this down again.

I also have the mini XLR connectors for the Rega upgrade, so I'll start on that now...
