    Greetings!

Welcome Chris! A few of us here use DSPs as well. I'm using a MiniDSP 4x10HD as my crossover/preamp/eq/delay

    Technics SL-120 Thread

No just an aftermarket oil dampening system, it does something beneficial with the tonearm resonance, also makes tracking bad warps a breeze. And I gotta buy a dust cover now.....

That's how you balance Gray/Micro-Trak tonearms lol I still have that Ortofon Concorde with an OM10 stylus on it, I may grab a 20 or 30 stylus for it, and there's also the new Concorde Music Bronze that looks cool.....

I also got a package from KAB today.......1200 fluid damper with some thick ass silly-cone oil Note the paddle on the rest thingy in the trough (filled with silly-cone) This is a great mod for this arm, lives up to the hype! Be sure you're sitting down when you give it the first listen

Yeah the 78 mod is a 1k resistor in parallel with R27 (6.2k) and a spst switch. Close switch, put 'table in 33, fine tune speed with the 33 pot under the platter and the normally accessible pitch control pot and a stroboscope. Switch on the side 1000 hrs in ms paint

    Technics SL-120 Thread

Well the Rek O Kut ended up having wayyyy too much rumble, so I revisited this thing. It originally was an SL-1200mk1 sold without a tonearm, or optioned with an SME 3009 (don't ask me which one!). I put an SL-1200mk2 tonearm on it cuz cheap and easy. I have a fetish for 78s, so my turntable...

    PL400 Series 2 Build

Yeah my 4 fin is due for a few tweaks. I'm gonna switch around the meter board/lights, clean up the AC wiring, maybe a Triac switch, figure out why the right channel drops intermittently.

Puttin' Magical Mystery Tour on cassette. I don't remember the last time I did this but the TC-K71 seems competent. And that "Polaroid" tape looks , smells and records like true cro2......

Tri amping and protecting the tweeter

2 way active, WOPL 400 going bareback into Altec 807a tweeters with GPA diaphragms. I smoked one diaphragm when I unplugged the MiniDSP with the 400 still powered on. Don't be reckless and you'll be fine.

I'm also interested to see how it shakes out. Wyn's phono preamp kicks ass. Makes fake turntables sound real.....

Wyn is working on a new power amp...

Have a variable oscillator running 60hz or so and amplify that with a chip amp to run the synchronous motor in my turntable, should give me variable speed control over the motor
