    DSP-408 went T*Ts up...not good

Seems my DSP-408 is non-functional. Anyone else had this happen? Unit power indicator is lit. Dongle won't connect to my phone. Can't remember if this had an indicator light so I can't tell if its got power. DSP won't connect via usb cable either. Tried resetting several times.... no joy. Are...

    Goldpoint Stepped Attenuators

I know this thread is REALLY old, but I'm curious why a 100k stepped attenuator was used given input impedance is 10k on a pl400...or am I wrong?

    THANK YOU WATTS ABUNDANT!

Thanks Don for a wonderful product. Your DCP board protected my subwoofer. I was adjusting my active sub crossover when the speaker gave a couple little burps then....silence. Power reset, try again. Burp...silence. Power reset.....silence. I pulled the amp, checked fuses. Both rail fuses were...

This one got the caps but no beads.

these two caps are tied one to each rail and ground. They are not in any schematic and I'm wondering if a tech put these in to reduce/eliminate the "thump". They are .33uf, 100v caps. There is almost no thump on power on or off.

Are the days of cheap 400/700s done.

I need the functionality of the active crossover since this is designed to tap off a preamp output. So do you think this will work to bridge an unmodified PL400?

That may be a good plan B. Could you look at Plan A in post #40 and tell me what you think?

Are the days of cheap 400/700s done.

The transformer is an option i've explored but to do both channels would require 2 amps and 2 transformers ... I think... :munky2: I was thinking of using a Rolls SX95 to perform the inversion of summed low frequencies from both channels. Inversion of summed signal on 1 output channel only and...

    That 470uf, 100v cap seems...large as a replacement upgrade for C6, a 100uf, 6.3v cap. What say ye? I have smaller. Help!

Just to be clear, the diodes are paralleled across C6, cathode to anode?

Yes, bias is good. Both trimmers are at about 60% of travel. Bias is more stable as well. Has about +/- .1 millivolt after stabilizing. Thanks

Joe, are the diodes installed anode to anode or cathode to cathode across C6?

Well, I ordered the 470uf caps and the 1N4148 diodes. I started reading through the tips and archives. Discovered people are recommending getting the 470uf cap in 50 or 100v rating. I ordered 10v because the drawing shows C6 rated 100uf, 6.3v. Do I need to reorder?

Got a pic of how you installed the diodes? Not a lot of room on the back of the board.

This is the mod to prevent the amp from going into oscillation? I remember reading about this.

I think I made a mistake. Seems I ordered Nichicon VP non-polar electrolytics to recap the control board instead of FG caps. Is this going to cause issues? Caps are cheap enough, I can reorder if there is a big issue here.

Copy that. Ordered the diodes and some fresh caps today. Been running the amp all day with no pops, clicks, or scratchiness.
