One of our drag-racing gang owned one of those. May still have it; he's kept everything automotive he's ever owned. That thing was awesome!

    Glad to be here

3440 is a great deck. Used one - my last four track deck in a home studio before obtaining a Tascam 38. It was very robust. Welcome!

Agreed. The last mixer I owned used speakons or something very similar for balanced line level inputs so they could take either XLR or balanced 1/4" jacks. Exact size as a regular XLR.

    Question about a B&K PRO10 I have.

With the exception stacking my Exposure integrated on top of my Parasound amp, I've always kept preamps away from amps by a few feet. May be that the Exposure's control section was passive, so it might not have mattered (it was, after all, housed with the 75 watt/channel amp in the same box)...

    Question about a B&K PRO10 I have.

Loved my Pro-10 back in the day. I remember the 10 being pretty transparent. I'd be honestly curious to see how it would stack up against my Audible Illusions - I think the vintage is such it's just a few years newer than the B&K. Completely different design, of course, but would be fun to see...

Yes, welcome if I didn't say so earlier! And yes, a 1060 Marantz was my dream integrated back when I couldn't afford anything and settled for building a Dynaoco SCA-80Q. Would still like to have one (among several other pieces of electronics) but in the small house, I've got room for only one...

    what are you listening to?

Nice to learn. I thought Rabco was mechanical, as well, as old a design as it is. Thanks!

    what are you listening to?

Okay, that Marantz is gorgeous. It begs begs a couple of fun questions for me. Wonder if Marantz incorproated any Rabco parts or technology in the arm or if it was their own engineering? Wonder if ReVox used any Marantz technology in their straight-line tracker given the similarities in the...
