Mild dilemma with low bias on one channel

Testing between TP1 and Pad 9 shows 151 Ω as it should. I don't see a 10 Ω resistor like in the original PL backplane. I'll try warming it up and retest, thanks for the ideas. Ω

    700II resistors/diodes

Same parts I found "browned" on the PL36 board I just replaced with a WOPL board. I replaced the parts, but they still heated up to an unacceptable level. Keep track of the orientation of the Diodes. I seem to remember having a question about that with the PL schematic vs what I found installed...

Mild dilemma with low bias on one channel

Going back and forth between the test points with a single multimeter gives me the results I listed. I used both a cheapo meter, an Ames DM1010, and for fun, the Triplett 630.

Mild dilemma with low bias on one channel

Amp 1, the one I stupidly allowed the left meter to touch the buss bar, is finally back up and running properly, mostly. By mostly, I mean the only issue I have is the left channel bias adjustment only has a range of .21 to .33, the right channel has a range of .22 to .43 or so. I matched both...

    2 new to me PL-700b

Nah, I set my upper limit and was aced on everything.. grrrr. Oh well, It was an amazing bunch of stuff, and with the dust and dirt on the gear, it was difficult to tell exactly what condition the stuff was in.

    2 new to me PL-700b

I found a TS100 soldering iron does everything I need. I swap out a pointed and flat tip depending on the job. Takes about 10 seconds. I also use Kester 44 .031 solder, and Kester 959 soldering flux. It takes less than 10' of solder to complete a wopl. A 3oz bottle of flux may last a lifetime...

PL400 Series II WOPL Quasi Control Board

Hi Joe, pleased to report the amp operates perfectly. And odd note, when I first fired it up with music at about 85db, I had a "ghost signal" showing on the right LED meter together with some mild clipping. After about a minute, it went away, and has not returned. I should get a scope some day...

PL400 Series II WOPL Quasi Control Board

One last question. Can i run r2 and l2 from the copper bar, rather than all the way back to the pots, since pot post 3 (ground) already runs to the copper bar?

PL400 Series II WOPL Quasi Control Board

Should I be running a new wire between the copper plate and the bus, or will the inputs get their ground through 2l and 2r connections?

PL400 Series II WOPL Quasi Control Board

Wow, I'm not worthy! That fixed the output voltage and output relay issue. Output voltage is pretty much zero. thankyou thankyou. Now my ears are open with the input arrangement.
