Yamaha CT-7000. I don't use it often though since I'm not a fan of most of the stations around here. Also absolutely hate the advertisements which seem to take up about 65% of the program time for most stations.

So I take it that Phase Linear is a (vintage?) brand, and White Oaks is a company that produces upgrades or mods for Phase Linear equipment? I've never heard a Phase Linear amp before but it seems they've got a huge following on here.

My stands arrived today and I got everything situated so that the SHL5+XD's have now joined my Harbeth family!

Snow is nice to deaden the sound of cars, for sure. Plus, it keeps idiots from speeding through the neighborhood.

I got the Harbeth stands that they only distribute in Japan for some reason, model HSS-5, made specifically for the SHL5+XD. The guy I got the speakers from gifted them to me. Also got a used pair of used Resonant Woods Linear II stands for my C7'ES3-XD's. Like these but shorter (I think...

Is there any way to tell if the hairline cracks go deeper than just the finish/veneer, into the plywood substrate? I would've thought if so, then the cracks would be more apparently deep. Would gently tapping on the cabinet reveal anything? They look like they're just in the finish/veneer, but I...

Those are really nice! I suppose it's one of those things where when they aren't yours, you're much less apt to notice the small things. Re: dropping speakers, my friend got a pair of Harbeth C7ES3-XDs and they have a kid. Well the kid bumped into one of the speaker stands while running around...

Just want to say that I appreciate everyone's talking me down from the ledge and encouraging me to enjoy these, lol. When I first inspected them I was being very critical but now I feel like I overreacted and am happy with them.

That's why I really love Harbeths. Not only do they sound amazing, but they're gorgeous. I love the minimalistic vintage BBC monitor look. A simple box with a good wood veneer/finish is all I want aesthetically for a speaker.
