    Altec 604

Now the million dollar question is do I build cabs for these (<7cu ft) or do I make more substantial open baffles? Either way I'm keeping these drivers. These existing "enclosures" are 1/2" ply and will eventually turn into bananas under the weight of these drivers. They have enormous ferrite...

    Altec 604

Fixes mostly work i think.....still got some VC rub in the "repaired" one. I may delete that dust cover spider. Anyways these show promise, the compression drivers on these are wayyy better than the 807s in those other cabs, tangerine FTW. Outstanding imaging, scary real vocals. And yes those...

    Altec 604

As seen in the other thread I picked up a pair of Altec 604-8Ks. Decent and working but with cone damage on one of em. Was badly repaired with RTV silly-cone. I got some artist brushes, diluted Elmer's glue, and scotch tape and it seemed to work. That goofy spider dust cover under the horn is...

    Hello from Boise, Idaho, USA

I know I read the threads about this on TH wayyyy back in 2010. Some good pancakes from a major manufacturer found and loaded by Larry. That's all I remember cuz I've slept a few times since then. Larry was originally a TH member and he presented this project there, and then he made this forum...

Rek O Kut B12H Rehab Thread

Necro-bump! I still have the Rek, thinking about ditching the Papst motor in itfor an Ebay BLDC motor that might have less vibration and hopefully can be tuned to spin at 1800 RPM. This guy should just fit in place of the original motor...

Welcome! My step mom is in Boise and my sister is somewhere near Idaho Falls. I recently did a bit of work on my WM-D3 (seen in the what are you ding today thread). I'm looking forward to seeing some of your cassette deck work.

Last of the great Pioneer gear before they went all to Bee Pee Cee. I swear the restyled logo cursed them. And post more anime tiddies!

    DSP-408 went T*Ts up...not good

I have one but didn't use it long. It still works as far as I know. I might use it in my truck, or I might not if its gonna shit the bed..... You might see if you can score a MiniDSP 4x10HD or see if parts express will warranty that sucker.....

    Dual Turntables

My WP phono preamp is the one on the top of the tape deck in the full width rackmount case and has one button to turn it on and off. That thing with the knobs is the Esoteric Sounds Re-Equalizer for 78 records

    Dual Turntables

Technics sl-120mk1 with a SL-1200mk2 tonearm, modified motor controller circuit and switch on the side for 78 rpm, AT3600 cartridge with an aftermarket 78 stylus and 2 gram headshell weight so I don't have to rebalance the arm, a Wyn Palmer phono preamp (Sota Pyxi), and an Esoteric Sounds/Rek O...

    Dual Turntables

I think Ortofon 2M series has a 78 stylus that tracks pretty light (or was that the OM series?) I've got a pretty serious 78 setup at home I'll post pics of when I get there.

    Carver C1 going through rework

Continued testing. I altered the gain Structure of the MiniDSP (2V in/2V out on unbalanced connections) and the C-1, I may still use less gain on the C-1. The MiniDSP acts as the crossover/delay/post EQ, C-1 back in for volume control/defeatable tone control/tape loop/primary input...
