Glen is very generous with his time and knowledge, he just helped me finish a little project. He sent me some parts to upgrade the D500 and was concerned that I didn’t have a way to safely discharge those monster capacitors, so he sent some parts and walked me through building a discharge box...

Saw a movie once where they hung a bunch of old speakers in a huge old tree for some sort of party, always wanted to do that just to see how it sounded. Anyway a graphic of an oak tree with amps and speakers hanging from the branches might look cool ?

Michael, if your still reading these posts, I can attest that the expense and time of resurrecting your amp is well worth it. The White Oak upgrades are phenomenal and the gents above are masters with this gear. You will not be disappointed.

Whenever I get a used piece of gear, I take an old male RCA cable end, some Deoxit Gold and clean the inputs. Just a little spray and twist the male back and forth. Cleans the corrosion and leaves a protective coating. (Not sure how long the coating lasts though?)

Nando….. I think you are setting a new audiophile trend by using a mattress as a phono and system base. Obviously any audiophile will instantly recognize the sonic benefits of completely dampening any and all vibrations, not to mention the electrical isolation from magnetic fields. Of course...

I am bumping this thread because it is not clear to me if Joe’s fix of increasing R261 & R361 values fixed the problem? My ignorant but inquiring mind would like to know how this colorful and entertaining thread finishes o_O
