There are issues - that is for sure. Did a little prep work today; Used the ambience pot as the test subject for disassembly- It looks good and test good. Will get cleaned and lubed for reinstall. Next up was balance pot (dual gang 50k at each half) - doesn't look bad but there is 5k difference...

Thanks for those tips George! Caps, resistors and opamps are on the short list for replacement. Going through the schematic vs. parts installed to create a list. Attempted some desoldering today but it is very sketchy with these boards. Going to invest in a desoldering station.

I think my pre has become jealous since the WOPL came into play. It has played nicely but there were issues - channel imbalance, noisy volume adjustment and no output on left phono. Well... take it apart and start over.

The newly minted WOPL 400S2 is getting burned in properly. Started with the old standby test > Steely Dan - Aja Followed by > Miss Molly and The Whips (Texas Blues/Rock) And punish speakers/family/neighbors > Tool - Fear Inoculum @laatsch55

Appreciate it! Got the meters calibrated just now and putting the top on. B+/- = 85V, DC Offset = .2mV (L)/.7mV (R) Off to find some handles for this one. Will likely pull the face plate back off and clean-up the holes drilled for rack mount.

Good evening! I am writing this and listening to the newest WOPL 400. OMG!!!!! Finished wiring this morning and tested this afternoon - All good. Pulled the stock 400 out and put the WOPL in for break-in. I still need to calibrate the meters but it has been a long weekend. Some parting shots;
