I think the consensus will be use quality parts. The Nichicon are good and as I recall, that is what GeorgeS used on his build. Mouser did not have the 390pF Mica in stock so I found some at Parts Connexion and purchased the Elna caps to make the order worth while.
stetter,
That BOM was created by me and is the list of parts that I used. It was only created as a guide which covers several different threads/builds here and then my own work. Other options are available and acceptable for the parts required.
As for the WIMA - I have a box of the parts noted...
Counting down here, but Happy New Year to all!
Not really a new year resolution person, but there is ONE now and the purchase of said amp with that in the model number will be it. :occasion5:
Many THANKS to all here! As a small give back, I am attaching a parts list and a quick drawing I created.
The BOM is formatted like the WOPL docs. As for the drawing, my board is not silkscreened so I scanned the bare board and made components on top of it.
Now that I am able to play albums again, I am listening to a Christmas gift from my daughters.
Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood 35th Anniversary (Zoetrope edition)
Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Here is the wrap up for now.
After starting this I figured it to be a 3 stage project;
1. replace caps/res/opamps and cleanup controls
2. better power supply
3. better vol and bal controls - stepped attenuator (maybe remote control)
I ended up at...
Brought it up on variac and dbt - no smoke encountered. DC voltage is 19V on both rails with 10 ohm resistor in each leg of secondary (the original 4136 installed for testing).
Calling it a day for now and will get back to it tomorrow.
