    Alpage AL-300 HF loss

    High w&f is usually due to a bad belt. Too high back tension will also increase the w&f, too low back tension will affect the tape to head contact and can also damage the tape. The supply reel table has a felt clutch for back tension, I can't remember if it's adjustable, 'll check on my notes...

    Haven't got head wear problems on them, only a dead record head (shorted windings) and a lot of tape path issues when trying different types of pinch rollers.
