    Sansui SC 5300

Auto stop was malfunctioning in two or three cassette decks that passed through my hands. In those cases it was a rubber idler tire that lost its grip. I was able to get square profile rubber O rings with proper ID’s & OD’s that got auto stop working again. Getting at the hubs to re & re...

    Insane tube price

I have a Heathkit assembly manual from circa 1968 and in the back is a price list for all the individual parts. Tube prices were less than $2 each.

    what are you listening to?

I got a copy of that LP when it came out. Mine is titled at the Royal Abert Hall before changing it to The Concert. Since it was mislabeled as they never played there, it's still factory sealed. What's it like to listen to? I've never heard it but reviews and reports I read long ago were...

    Dual-500 king of the Castle

Sanding by hand is not one of my favorite things and the times I've needed to do it, surfaces were two dimensions - flat. I congratulate you an your patience. Your fingers are the sanding block?

New to PL so looking for knowledge and advice

That is how I came to be on this forum. I bought a used 700B in 1990 for PA use in a band I was in but after some years it came to live in my closet. It had issues and when I searched online for tips on restoraton, I found Pheonix. Restoration was attempted but a WOPL conversion was the most...

Phase Linear Model 300 Series Two overheating on one side at low volumes

My bezels were chipped and just a repaint would not make them disappear. I did what has already been mentioned, blasting off the old paint down to bare metal. A coat of rattle can primer then rattle can semi-gloss black and I think they look lke new. There was a business not too far from me...

    what are you listening to?

Now I feel silly for spending the time I did looking for a Floyd album I was unaware of where RM/RE was short form for the title. But to be fair, the acronym should have been RM/RI.

Maybe it's a momentary lapse of memory but what is RM/RE?

    Telarc's 1812 Overture

That warning or disclaimer was provided with the Telarc CD 1812 recording from ages ago. There was no way to do otherwise but take it into the soundroom with the good stuff to purposely bottom out some woofers.

    DBX 200 XG. 200.00

Thanks Lee but no can do. Bank account is dwindling. Living expenses went up so income is less that outgo. I got rid of stuff to make up for lost ground and there is no gear on the horizon for the forseeable future.

    DBX 200 XG. 200.00

That is a nice one. I cleared the decks of some stuff a couple months ago. Included were DBX dynamic range expanders and 200 switchers. In hindsight, I should have kept one of the 200's.

Anyone here know everything there is to know about obsolete miniature incandescent lamp bulbs?

So I have discovered. There is a 1 watt 470 ohm resistor on the power supply board in series with the pilot light bulb. Not sure what the proper bulb voltage is exactly. I tried a couple of 12 volt miniature incandescents and obtained different voltages with different bulbs. Even though they...

Anyone here know everything there is to know about obsolete miniature incandescent lamp bulbs?

Well darn, I just checked what resistors I have and nothing close. But I did find a couple, or at least one, 12 volt 5mm green LED. I labled it "soft green" and it was in a bag with another 5mm LED but it is unlabled. Probably another of same. I also have the smaller 12 volt blue LED's...

Anyone here know everything there is to know about obsolete miniature incandescent lamp bulbs?

Yeah, the "on" light. They were called pilot lights at one time and I never got past that. No electrodes to be seen inside so I guess that's a no to it being neon. There does look to be supports inside for an extra long filament though. Is there any easy way to adapt an LED to operate...

Anyone here know everything there is to know about obsolete miniature incandescent lamp bulbs?

I have bulbs more or less the same size but 6.3 volt, 8 volt, 12 volt sorts of things.
