My DE-5000 was delivered yesterday…while I have barely kicked the tires on it, I have done some basic tests and find it to be a very substantial tool. Thank you George for starting this thread and sharing your experience with it. Joe’s endorsement is further support of a “must-have” tool...

And hopefully these reactors wont suffer from the same “runaway” condition some aged diesels have been known to suffer when they start to consume their equivalent of “lubricant”!

Good catch - I forgot about insulating the bolts. Easily enough to pull them back out. No stepped washers on this assembly Plenty of room between the IEC and fuse holder, Steve; there is no contact.

Out of curiosity, Sniff makes a PS regulator board for the C1. Could that be used in the 2000, with the appropriate voltage regulators ( I don’t recall the circuit volt requirement for either chassis) installed?
