TC1 - Multi Tester Tool ... A Handy Tool for Your Bench

I always have a lot of skepticism for cheap tools and testers, especially from "over there", but this is one that for $22.00 I figured is worth a try. There have been plenty of videos on YT regarding its accuracy and versatility, all or most are positive on this thing. The tester has a color...

Rek O Kut B-16H Disassembly for resto

I'm a fan of natural / clear finish but that translucent gray would pay homage to the original finish and still let the beauty of the wood come through.

    Three way electronic crossover

Got plenty of fans back there. There is a 3/4" gap between the 400-II and PA2 - I formed a piece of rubber sheet over the fan bracket so the air over the heat sinks is directed into this space. That blows air into both the PA2 and through the slits on the top cover of the 400-II.

    Three way electronic crossover

Not sure if that was for me or Glen, but I confirmed my pins 1&3 are tied together.

    Three way electronic crossover

I'd been working with Glen on a crossover project for the past few weeks, while not as elaborate as what Glen has in the works, it is similar in concept but not using transformers to convert unbalanced to balanced, and back. I bought a fairly new dbx Driverack PA2 speaker management system as...

Rek O Kut B-16H Disassembly for resto

It would be a sin to paint that wood…such clear panels need to be seen, not covered. The project is really coming along beautifully, from stylus to feet.

    what are you listening to?

Check out the specs and reviews on the Topping D50s. I have been very pleased with this one, as it replaced the D10 I had for several years prior.

The "Star" point - the copper (or aluminum) bus bar between the PS capacitors. Fused B+ pad in the top right corner of that board in your picture - mean to put that in my initial reply.

    New Music and Music Genres

Mesmerizing music and objects. Hard to believe somebody drew those - whether on a computer or by hand. I can't draw stick people. Artists amaze me!

    Gasoline prices Skyrocketing!

Ah yes, the fire sale on that crappy winter gas before they gouge us for that summer blend .... I mean summer demand.

No more 60 Hz hum in a PL2000 preamp.

I found the picture that shows the original (smaller) transformer and upgraded (larger) transformer ourside of the mounting site. I stand corrected as it is a Triad (brand?) NOT a toroid type.

No more 60 Hz hum in a PL2000 preamp.

I might have gotten that transformer type wrong - I also saved the pics for one of those "maybe" projects. Maybe not. The L10 I bought is working very nicely with the Acurus A250 I got from a friend several years ago. It was a new-in-box "spare" for a customer's home theater that was...
