    NAD 6300

My NAD 6300 has never been serviced since I've owned it. So, after five years of being parked in a display case in the upstairs living room, today, I pulled it out of the cabinet for a demo session. I, already, had been using my NAD 616 dual-well deck and NAD 3020 integrated amplifier for the...

    NAD 6300

Well, it's tape-dependent, too. Any true chrome Type II tapes in many decks will not record well if you exceed 0dB peak input level. But, the NAD 6300 seems to record best at the maximum levels I suggested. On my Pioneer CT-A9X, I can record to +4 dB to +6dB using a good Type IV cassette, such...

    NAD 6300

You will get better results by keeping your peak recording input levels at 0 to +2dB. You will avoid tape saturation. Also, leave the CAR processor off, if you intend to use the recorded tape for home use. Nando.

    NAD 6300

It has been a long time since I last used my NAD 6300 - like more than five years ago. I may pull it off the shelf and get it back into circulation. An old cell phone video: Nando.

    NAD 6300

Here is a start, if you don't plan to use additional equipment such as a tone generator, external meter, etc. 1) Load the selected cassette into the recorder and fast-wind the tape forward for a few seconds to get past the blank leader tape at the beginning. 2) Set the Play Trim control to...

    Wilsdon Bros WEB speakers

I have four pairs of WEB speakers. The last pair I got was back in 2022 and I bought them in a bulk vintage audio purchase from the original owner. He had the grille fabric changed some time ago - funky, but not my style. I haven't tried them, yet, but he attests they were good speakers. And...

    Wilsdon Bros WEB speakers

Welcome to our forum, beaker. There's not much dedicated history on the WEB speaker line-up. I haven't seen Series A speakers, before. Where do you reside? That's a whole lot of Nakamichi goodness. Nando.

    Thorens TD-125 MKII rework

Darcy: It's not worth the expense, time and probably my trial-and-error approach to work on my own audio equipment. There are specialized tools such as alignment gauges, torque tapes, test equipment, etc needed to properly repair, adjust and calibrate cassette decks. I have a good working...

    Thorens TD-125 MKII rework

@Sunnbobb: I hadn't heard of Steve Morse until I bought the album. His songs have made it to my past mix tapes. @derek92994: Thanks Darcy. I, also, have been using a local technician for the past couple of years to do all the servicing on my components. He works out of his home and - although...
