Would a new generic PA1001A I.C be a good idea? found one on the bay for $51.56 and can give best offer, free shipping.

So, a power supply rebuild and replace the PA1001a I.C would be a good idea on this one. Re-solder all the solder joints, and finding a PA1001 I.C.

My Phase Linear 5100 weirds out on the right channel a-lot these day's. Some times just turning it off and back on brings the right channel back in. Right side sounds slightly lower in volume on a constant basis. Sounds great other than that. I'm thinking a recap of the sort is in order, not...

I was wondering how to tell what year my PL 400 was built? The serial number is 4277 on the transformer. Transistors are XPL909 with 7452, and SJ2741 with 7439 on them.

Now that I started to rebuild my PL400 amp, I have all the old stuff that came out of it. What do you all do with it? Send to landfill, recycle it?

Yea, I started on the backplane boards on Friday. Went through the weekend, a couple hours at a time, plus worked on Saturday 8 hours, and finally got em' done. I did not order the Bergquist Sil-Pad 400 TO-3 insulators, and 96's & 95's with the backplane board kit, wished I did. Time to order...

Yes, I trimmed wire tails as short as possible. Did the flatness check as well, with the boards laying on there back side.
