is the AL300 a pre-1981 deck? if so, if you checked it with a post-1981 (Prague 1981) test tape, that bit of rising treble response and bass boost is how it's expected to be. well done! :D

schematic isn't showing polarity, as usually mentioned on electrolytics. what actually they put in the device? I generally look at schematic and part list but then I check what was really used in the device and consider the actual correct information. Service manuals might show mistakes...
