anyways, many years ago at Pizzo I happened to meet a guy named Rocco with your same surname, and now that I think about it, I never happened to know anybody else with your surname around here, then I guess it's not so widespread... this reinforces the probability that guy might be a relative of...

NICE! :D So, not Vibo the main town which is a bit up on the mountain at a few minutes drive from sea (one of my older sisters got married and lives there, and I have two nephews born there in Vibo) but just Vibo Marina, the part of the town down at sea, just adjacent to Pizzo and which, during...

and sometimes, in summer, we meet at my sea home at Pizzo, few minutes drive south of Curinga. :) Curinga is just halfway between my main hometown Lamezia Terme and my summer-hometown Pizzo

HUH? Ca ccà simu tutti calabrisi! :toothy8: (translation: But here we are all from Calabria!) well, not exactly, but my region in the south of Italy is well represented... IIRC, Perry has origins from my region, Nando too and maybe a few others? And Giovambattista lives in Milan but, really...

Did you like my nice surprise of bringing Giovambattista here? :) Yesterday, during a phone call with him, he asked me "how about the forum?"... and I told him "do you know Phoenix?"... and him "no"... and me "you should, because it's the most nice, friendly and pleasant place out there, with so...

What size belt do I want?

but, is it a flat belt or a square belt? in general, for flat belts, lower thickness can provide better wow and flutter but if it's lower thickness than the original you should consider to get it also a small bit shorter so that, in the end, you get more or less the same tension as a slightly...

    Telefunken TC 750 - A new challenge!

a true nightmare of a deck to handle... maybe second only to your AD-6900 in this regard, only because this is "modular" and so there are (lots of) connectors and you can totally dismantle and reassemble that mess inside without needing to use the soldering iron.

AIWA AD-F880-MAX , my own heavily modified version of this deck.

not even my most favourite deck, to be sincere, but I HAD to do that. :p

    How about a capacitor discussion?

bipolars like nichicon UES or panasonic SU (BP) are some of those I do extensively use in the signal path (i.e. signal coupling).

    Tom Evans Mastergroove/Mend It Mark

actually, in the past, I had only watched a couple of his cassette decks videos and I wasn't too impressed, so my idea about him was skewed... and if he doesn't love cassette decks that's understandable, as you cannot know just everything. But, indeed, with purely electronic stuff/devices he is...

    How about a capacitor discussion?

interesting insight on these panasonic series, as well. Thanks for sharing! :) I do remember there were 2 of those 3 series with more similar specs/parameters and the third one with slightly lesser specs... then they should be the FC (are them the blue ones with gold markings, true?)... but...

    How about a capacitor discussion?

Did you also try Panasonic FM for power supply filtering? Being some caps mentioned by Alex/ANT for such purposes, I go with these without even wondering.

    Tom Evans Mastergroove/Mend It Mark

actually, I've seen a couple of his cassette deck repair videos in the past and noticed a few rookie things (on the mechanics side)... so, maybe, cassette decks aren't exactly his cup of tea, being some VERY specific matter which is different than other kind of HiFi gear... including the use of...
