Got a pit and able-bodied pit masters at the ready, Gene?

Are you referring to vinyl or to hi-res digital? Most of the improvement I hear is in the re-mix and remaster but the pressing quality (or lack thereof) has turned me off of vinyl unless it's a QRP pressing.

Absolutely loved his turns as Morrison and in Heat, one of my all-time favorite movies. Tombstone was great, too. Still, that final scene with Tom Cruise in Top Gun Maverick was a gem. A true talent, gone far too soon.

No listening tonight. Everything is switched off while that storm rolls through - abundance of caution and all that. Tornado about 20 miles north but quiet with rain here.

Ooof... even for those early solid state receivers, that doesn't sound good. I've yet to meet an original of any manufacturer from that era that didn't sound wooly to my ears, but weak bass was never an issue. However, I don't get out much anymore.
