Arrg just got off phone with home depot to find out why the order I put in on the 3rd has not come yet..... They said the online order went to a TX store and they will not deliver to ME from there. So I asked how did it go to TX and why could they not transfer the order to ME? They said it was...

    Looking to upgrade to horns

I think big difference in a car sub is they are is small confined spaces like trunks I think the small space almost becomes part of the sub. There has to be a reason you never see sealed subs in pro use or in bigger venues... Also I would think a sealed sub would not be as efficient which is...

    Looking to upgrade to horns

I think I want to try down firing, I will put them forward in the cab next to the woofer... maybe forward corner. I wonder if I mount the port inside the cab instead of pushing it in from outside, and maybe flare the hole in the 3/4 mdf? That would be like adding a flare to the end of the...

'I think we need a slide trombone port. Right out the top. Once you are placed you slide it to accentuate the desired frequency. Then the “periscope” top could be aimed for best advantage. " lol

    Looking to upgrade to horns

I may end up doing rear facing... I guess as long as I am 6" away from the wall would work. But the thing about that is most I read the port should be as close as possible to the woofer... a port at the back makes it almost the furthest away from the woofer. So ..... wish I had a speaker...

    Looking to upgrade to horns

The height could be an issue for me.... they say the distance from the port to the floor should be equal to the diameter of the port. have 6" ports and with the casters under the cabs I have 3 1/2" clearance so that will make me 2 1/2" shy of what they say I should have. There is no way I want...

    Looking to upgrade to horns

Anyone know if a port is ok to face down, that would be down firing, or to the back of the cab back? Why does it have to face the front where it is said you can place a sub anywhere in a room?

Did you put speaker terminals on the backs of these? If so did you use 10ga wire to run from the terminal to the woofer?

    Looking to upgrade to horns

This is why I am a bit reluctant to go with square...... I think what I would be building here would be called a square port where I will use the interior side of the cab for one wall of the port then make a 3 sided piece the length and depth of the port, I think a slotted port is where you...
