Nando: My silver X-2000R isn't even technically in service right now. Right now I only haul it out once every three or four months to run for a few minutes just to keep it in operational condition. I'd say that my usage right now is probably 60% the Akai, 35% the X-2000R(bl) and 5% the TASCAM...

Old thread, but giving it a boost. I would not recommend any Sony branded tape, NOS or used. Of the four main flavors they had: PR-150, SLH, ULH, and FeCr, all are known, verified SSS offenders. Buy them for the large bulbous reels. But I would not recommend using the tape.
