OK, I brought them both down to .37V. No change in issue

    phase linear 400

Ya hey gang. I have another stump the Sunnbobb issue. I'm working on an pl400 with the PL14 Board. I haven't found anything in the service manual that deals with this issue. Using a DBT and a variac, with no out puts, the amp fires up fine. With just the DBT, and fired up hard from 110V, the...

LOL, major brain lock. I had the bag side by side with the bag of TP9054's. It's the 9054 that I have 10 of, and need two more. Thanks for the catch. And if anyone needs 15025's, LMK.

This amp came with four 66546's as output drivers on the bottom row, and the rest of the transistors were B05's. of which 3 were bad. I have a set of 10 15025's I'd like to use, I need two more. I have removed all the B05's.. I tested the 66546's, installed them, and the DBT is behaving. Now I...

Found it. Bad RCA B05 transistor. You nailed it. Thanks for the help!

And another twist/clue. If I take out all of the row 4 transistors, and install all of the row 3 resistors, the DBT doesn't light up. Then, If I reinstall one or any of the row 4 transistors, the DBT lights up.

Took the cooling fins off, cleaned everything, there is no damage to the sockets in row 3. The weird thing is if I put any of the screws holding the transistors in row three, the DBT lights up, a single screw anywhere along the row, lights up the bulb, yet row 1 is fine.

    phase linear 400

Ok, so I removed the transistors from Row 1 and row 3. DBT did not light up. I reinstalled Row 1, DBT still did not light up. I installed the bottom transistor in row 3 and the DBT lights up. I took it out, and installed the second transistor - DBT still lights up. I can put all the transistors...

    phase linear 400

Here is one for the brain trust. I picked up a PL400 with the pl14 board. It had a blown line fuse, and the rail fuses were fine. I replaced the blown fuse and hooked up the DB tester and the Variac, the DBT lit up very bright, and there was no voltage to the meters or the filter caps. I...

    phase linear 400

Just wondering if anyone has a single meter clamp for the analog meter on a 400 they could sell me. I just picked up a unit. The meters were loose, and the clamps scattered throughout the chassis. 3 of them that is. the 4th one is no where to be found.

I just dealt with a mouse bloom. I used the pop can over a five gallon bucket trap. Went out in the morning, and the bucket looked like a mouse swimming pool party. Ugh.

Hi gang, just checking in. I've had my hands full for the past month. I'm hopefully getting back to the operating table soon. I enjoyed catching up on missed posts. And that Coffee looks fab Gene!

Hexis, thanks, I found exactly what you suggested. An intermediate connect it was! I also added another tool to my bench, a chopstick! I tapped every component with the chopstick until i found the offending resistor (R39). The chopstick helped keep me from electrocuting myself while trouble...

    phase linear 400

Hey guys, I have an interesting issue I have not been able to zero in on. Sometimes when I turn on the WO/WA 700 S2 (with WO led display), the right meter pegs and the bias on the right board registers zero. A good tap on the case causes it to drop to normal, and the bias returns. It then...
