Got a set of Klipsch KP-450's in my sites in Texas 11 hours away. I want em. Always have wanted a set. I know the crossovers will be tired, at least I think they should be by now if not anything else ESR wise. I know I hear some of you cats are running ALK (I think?) extreme slope networks in your Klipsch speakers in fact I think Lee said he were running them at one time? Could easily be wrong. Anyhow here is a look at them. Anyone with experience with them? Do you all think I should buy them? What is your opinion here. I respect you guys. You have always helped me out a lot. Thanks.

Hard to beat Al K's stuff. I have run his Universals and his Extreme Slope....both are excellent crosses...
I have some for sale....went tri-amp, I hate to say never, but it will take some extraordinary circumstances for me to go back to passives..

Lee, what brand actives are you using or did you build your own? Are you running XLR or RCA style jacks from your preamp?

Ashly XR2001 on the active with a White Oak Model One on the woofs, a White Oak Model One on the big horns and a PL300 on the tweeters.
The Rowland Coherence is XLR, the Oppo 205 is XLR, the Ashly is XLR, the White Oaks are XLR, the PL 300 is SE- RCA.....

Noted. Thanks Lee. Had no clue Joe sold x overs. I need to tune myself up a bit. I am going to read all about the equipment you mentioned and see what I come up with. I appreciate it. I want to start small. I decided not to go with the KP-450's. I have two KP-450 woofers and may just build a two way system with those to start off with to try and get the hang of it.

Well ok then. I guess I would have figured that out eventually. I actually have a CX 3400 pro Behringer that I bought a while back and I have a Forte 44 with XLR outs as well as several amplifiers with XLR inputs. I don't know if that is something I should use. I would certainly be interested in buying the Ashley unit as I do not have a lot of faith in the Behringer name to be honest. Just let me know.

Behringer after they acquired Midas are much better than they were.

And now you can get several Midas preamps in a 1u package for short money.
