I posted this on AK maybe a fresh set eyes here at Phoenix, I did follow MIJ_Pioneer SA 95000 restore thread and it came out great, of course I moved on to something else. Come to find out I get intermitting static in both channels. The static is not affected by any switch or pot. Its louder in left so I'll use that as a schematic reference. Sometimes the static sounds like its oscillating and most times the unit is dead quiet. Using my O-scope it seems to be in the Switch amp board (hi/low filter, tone/on/off, attenuation, balance, mode). As I don't see the static on the scope coming out of the control board, but I hear it in the speaker. The static disrupts the straight DC scope trace and the DCV fluctuates. I jumped out the power switch, no change, I monitor the PS and everything look good. I can't trigger the unit to make the static, cold spray, moving and tapping things doesn't make the static. I tried shorting plugs on the input it was set on. With the SA 9500 in separated mode the static is in the front end as the amps (speakers) are quiet. and I can see the static on the scope coming out of the front end. This board has new, Wima caps, 2SC3503 and two new KL e-caps all switches and pots cleaned. Any ideas what is causing the intermitting static? thanks, The SA 9500 plays fine, DC offset is a steady 12mv on speaker terminals.

On the lower end Pioneers, the big heatsink is also a chassis ground. If it has a screw loose (or missing) it can cause noise like this. I don't know if that applies to this model or not, but worth checking I'd say.

I swapped out the KSC3503 on the SB for KSC2383O's no change. I ordered the higher gain KSC2383Y. I'm going to put back the 2SC1451's Digging into that slight hum in right.

I have one with the same problem and my noise is in the power amp. Double check your testing. It is a PIA to reach the amp boards so i am planning to shotgun the diff pairs.

Its in the preamp on mine for sure . Is your DC offset high? I'm thinking maybe it's a damaged ground connection on a board, not at the pins.
