I guess all the gauges should be of somewhat equal dimensions down the line, the compact casette being a standard. Perhaps going with wider tolerances (comparing different manufacturers) would make production easier...probably not.

Nope, it was @radiofan. Actually I just renamed three files in my post, which I titled falsly, to give him credit.

Probably worth mentioning for clarity that the above comparisons are of fake gauges, as per the description in the link you povided:
'I bought both of these templates on ebay..... these are of course fakes - not originals'
