On erasers, the blue end was used for erasing ink and the pink side for erasing pencil. Nando.

i am using the blue kind or erasing rubber, which is more abrasive than the others and cleans just so easily

Interesting, I'll try that on the next switch that needs cleaning.

indeed eraser rubber is what I use to clean the contacts of the switches quickly and easily and it works a lot better than alcohol.

A pencil eraser might take the yellow off the head.

realigning properly is another point I didn't mention (or that I had taken for granted)... anyways, if the head has the simple 2 screws...

that's corrosion/oxide too... i've seen it more times and I guess certain alloys used to make heads produce that kind of yellow oxide...
