They weren't moving because I still have some of my hearing left for some reason and was afraid to rock and roll. Future project will be to maybe increase sensitivity further w/ a switch but for now I am going to call this my second resurrected Phase Linear!
I soldered up the WOPL driver board yesterday afternoon and installed. Came up fine first try. ~1 mV DC offset. Kudos to White Oak for making a very nicely organized kit. I particularly like the use of high power small form factor Vishay resistors. I use those all the time when a lower power...
Here's what I came up with based on your suggestions...
They are sitting on 1U 10" shelves w/ the rubber feet pulled off the bottom. I have them separated from the component above by a 1/2U grill for ventilation.
Two things that could be better: 1) obviously they aren't anchored to the rack...
Epic big iron!!!
Odd because my PL400 seems to be the exact right dimension for a 4U rack space, including mounting. I'm going to figure out how to make this cute with the PL300 series 2.
Stupid question after doing some searching. How are these rack mounted? They seem to fit exactly by width, but the screw holes are off for a standard pro audio rack.
Just a little humor. I'll be soldering up a new driver board as soon as I can get my hands on one. In the mean time I'll do the diode fix since I have he parts on hand.
The thing I described about pegging VU meters was consistent with a latching phenomenon when power cycling the amp. Gepetto describes the phenomenon and a fix he came up with in one of the links posted above.
Probably unrelated to the problem of noise that mysteriously vanishes after an hour of...
I also upgraded the rectifier and added 4x snubber caps similar to this image:
https://forums.phxaudiotape.com/media/new-rectifier.9196/
Rectifier is KBPC5006T, 600 V - 50 A
Caps are film 400V 0.01uF
Interesting thought. These are the caps in it now:

Surprisingly I do have the right diodes... I will take a look inside the board and post here my plan of attack but it may take me a few days.
Mean time I did another startup test on the amp. This morning I plugged the amp in and it again made tons of noise that I could silence by touching the...
I'll study your post and see if I can understand what needs to be done. I haven't started studying the schematic of the driver board yet.
Odd observation: I cooked dinner and came back and the amp isn't picking up any hum anymore. Dead clean. Would you expect the amp to behave better after warm...
