The carver 4000t is way better than most Phase Linear preamps. I have serval throughout the house. The best phase linear had was the model 3500 -3300 but no equal.

This one is a a TU-11 you what the tu-11a. Same internals as the TU-11b .the TU-11 a has am stereo and a bit better fm section than the TU-11 it als same inside as TU-11b here is the manuls

Not sure Lee must have been 220 but I did not pay attention when I cut the wires. This explained the lug terminal that is not in 110 units. still once again schematics wrongly published or miss manufactured

Yup those resistors do not get hot. in last update to the c-4000 they are eliminated check the regulators are in correctly

That transformer end bell is also steel and not cast zinc like later ones In my opinion much better
