Picked up another 700b for WOPLing

Picked up another 700b and am having it shipped to Eric for the full boogie. The amp has a "dual primary transformer" ,any advantages other than 220v capable?

None except that. If you plan to resell internationally, it may help you move it into that venue.

You can make it dual voltage, just don't switch the voltage while in operation - sparks may fly.

Interesting, never thought about adding a switch for line voltage on one of these amps.

The original Line Voltage switches are a little hard to find, but any 10A rated, DPST switch would work.

but then again it only works if your transformer primary is set up for it. My 700B tranny is single voltage (240V) but that's fine for me.

Eric got the new amp in today. Missing outputs, drivers and fuses. The guy had a good rating on Ebay and said he would pack well-one layer of bubble wrap,but he did put it in 2 boxes! Damaged cover on tranny but Eric does it works fine and meters are good-thank goodness that's all I need from this thing! Beware of vague descriptions like "turns on but no further testing done" ,I believe this guy knew what he was selling-he certainly knew how badly he packed it-buyer beware!!

Never heard of that. I thought all Phase Linear 240VAC transformers were dual primary (120+120) to get to 240V.

Some JB weld is good solution to the transformer cover
These heatsinks are made from zinc I believe so not to easy to reshape
I did one that I use here at home with good results using the JB weld epoxy

My Flavor Country 4 fin got bent because they did a bad job packing it, just a beat up box and packing peanuts. It also had a nice nicotine glaze on it.......

Australia...Darcy has a 240 WOPL he runs on 265 ...pretty hot rails..

After spending almost 2 weeks on my back fighting off the latest variant of Covid, I've completed work on this upgrade.

I'll post a few pictures of relevant changes from past builds.

Someone converted this amp back to 120V from 220V operation and butchered the wiring.

The terminal strip had multiple single strand shorts that explain blown fuses.
