You may know this amp from another thread titled 700B Ebay rescue.

I ordered a chassis, control board, wire kit, outputs, and back-planes from Joe. I also have a DC protect from Watts Abundant.

In two nights I assembled the control board and will probably finish the two back-planes by the end of the weekend.

I will then start reassembly, but I need more parts, I should have ordered the main capacitors from Joe...
I do have the output posts from the DC protect kit.

I need everything else, anyone buy this stuff in bulk and care to PM a price?

As far as I know I will need:
C26 and C27 main caps
2 input RCA connectors
normal direct switch
C24L C24R
Bridge Rectifier
C3, C4, C5, and C6
5 of AGC type fuse holders

with the watts abundant kit do I need R54L, and R54R

What else will I need?

I know this is just another White Oak board, but this one is mine and I am proud of it, thanks to Joe for an amazing kit, everything was bagged in order.

Pay attention to the "Full Comp" build BOM, it tells you ALL you need.

Some components on the DCP are removed for your full blown build.

I honestly don't know what I need, I just looked at Joe's grounding instructions and went with that.

I need you guys to tell me what I need, I will buy it from one of you, or order from Mouser.

Thanks for helping me finish the build.

The normal/Direct switch is not used. I have on occasion, taped over the hole. Are you paying attention to the build sheet? All that crap attached to the output jacks and the normal direct is eliminated.

Don't confuse building a full blown WOPL with upgrading a stock unit. Some directions are for just upgrading the back plane, some are for the upgrade of the control board. You are building a whole new unit and some of the directions are unneeded.

Have you looked over the pics of the builds I/we have done?

I did follow the BOD for the control board, I read through the "Assembly Notes for PL700 Backplane Rev B PCB".

I do not have a use for the Normal/Direct switch so I will go without it.

In this pic, I used the normal/direct to switch in the ground but it didn't matter, nothing gets hooked to it

It's a BIG JOB if you have not been through one before. IT's A big tough job even if you have done one. A LOT OF WORK.....

It does look like a big job, the boards are step by step and just work your way through. The wiring looks tough, and harder to make it look good and keep the AC away from the signal wires.

I will finish the backplane assembly, paint the transformer, then start the chassis build. I would like to place a parts order so I do not get stalled when the time comes to assemble the chassis.

I did see a thread in the sticky with some part numbers referenced.

So far I think I need:
Bridge Rectifier
snubber caps for above
Main Caps
AGC fuse holders
RCA inputs

anything else?

Lots of wire, zip ties, fuses, did you get a new light board (700B?), you don't want the old crappy one. Got a faceplate? I got 1 black 700B left, I have a set of main caps too and fuse holders.

Rectifier are only about 5 bucks, good RCA Jack's are $28 a pair, cheap ones are cheap.

Started on the backplains, no joke those standoffs require the correct soldering iron.

At first I tried my bench work horse, failed, not enough heat output.

The answer was on my bench the whole time, this worked perfectly

Butane Weller.jpg

All stand offs are in, time to start on the components.

Wait, your cordless butane soldering iron has more heat output than your soldering station?

Yeah, the ground plane can wick some serious heat. I had to invest in a new solder station when I started to do the back planes. Just a suggestion, I run a tap through all the standoffs just in case you get some solder where you don't want it. I would hate to go install a transistor and the screw won't go in smoothly. If you have to Chase threads while the back planes are installed, you could get solder debris where you don't want it.

Yes, and it wasn't close.

That is the big Weller butane, not the skinny pencil one.
You need one of the stations that supports the Weller WSP-80 pencils which are 80W fast recovery solder stations. That with the 1/8" wide chisel tip does a fine job when set to 700F
