That are stood off the board...yes sir. Higher voltage caps work well...but there is some debate as to how f AR above you can go. In my world anything from 0 volts to 100 is interchangeable if theyfit...

That's a good thing. This machine needs over spec caps due to the power supply section running so hot when the case is on. i run it with the case off and would fan cool it if the case was on. My father ran his in a closed cabinet for 10 years, we went through a few power supply rebuilds.

Well that's good cos this machine is technically a Panasonic. I think they produce some good stuff, my Panasonic A/C gets absolutely flogged as its too small for the room and its a great little unit, quietest window unit I've had.

Testing Recording now.....+8db peaks =)

Result: Outstanding! Having recording level adjustment on a VHS Hi-Fi is a treat, so hard to find them these days in good working order.

Laying down Mike Oldfields 'Five Miles Out" sourced from vinyl -> 24/96khz quality -> light clean filter on pc -> National NV-850 Hi-Fi VCR

I have another later model Panasonic Hi-Fi VCR upstairs which I'd like to recap one day, similar symptoms. Probably a late 80s/early 90's model. The power supply is in a cage though, pain in the ass. Will tackle that one as well some day.

Transformer gets that hot that I can only hold my hand on it for a couple of seconds...is this ok? Nothing burning up though.
