A clear conscience is actually a bad memory.
Hi all,

I had briefly introduced myself a couple of months ago....but alas life took over a bit and i hadn't been back..... But now i am:hello1:

I love all vintage audio, especially the TOTL Pioneer kit from the 1976 - 1980 period....I also love semi defunct formats, DCC, Elcaset, even Micro Cassette!

Hi All and Happy New Year.

Hi Shaun,

Nice to see you drop by again. You will have to post your latest picture of your system. It's a beaut!

Nando.

Hi Nando,

Thank you for the welcome, and also from Northwinds.

I will try and get a photo up and running, They do not match your excellent photo's though

Neat system Shaun.

Welcome to Phoenix (again).

I like that picture, Shaun. Your Sony EL-7, placed below the RT-909, is in just the right spot.

Nando.

Thanks Nando,

The Sony isn't small! But i thought that it may look less conspicuous sat under the mighty RT-909! I am still feeling the love for the new toy! For once a defunct format that is excellent (And in my stack!)

Shaun

I pulled my El-7 out of storage a couple of days ago. I just have to find where I set aside the tapes.

Nando.

:hello1: Now that is exciting news!

I am going to have to have a really good think about what is going to go on this mix tape..... If you have any preference of Genre please let me know, and i can start to collate some toons!!

I am sat here smiling at the thought of an Elcaset mix exchange!!

Shaun

What is the quality of Elcaset like, does it come close to RTRs?

Derek: The Sony EL-7 is superb, rivaling most entry-level open-reel decks. That's why I am looking forward to an Elcaset mix tape exchange with Shaun. I've had my Sony EL-7 for a few years and Shaun has been the first one to own one who will do a tape exchange with me. I have done a test recording on mine tonight. It has sat dormant for a few years. Once I get accustomed to taping with it again I will see about getting more blanks. I found only three tapes so far and two of them have already been recorded on.

Nando, I may not have a deck to play one but man... those "jolly green giant cassettes" are just the bee's knees. Very interesting chapter of audio history.

Howdy there (again) stranger... Man, that definitely is one nice looking set of silver Pioneer you have there...

Nando has always been known for both his good setups and excellent photography.

Thank you, Matt. You're no stranger to pulling off nice pictures, yourself. Always enjoyed your in-depth cassette and open-reel reviews. Perhaps, you could post some pictures of your own system?

Nando.

I've heard good things about them upon doing some research. They are virtually like an open reel because they take the tape out of the shell for transport. A very desirable format and expensive to buy these days. Did your machine still perform well when you played back your recording?
