Black Sabbath - s/t
(1970, Warner Bros) -1A/-1A Artisan symbol in the deadwax

Nice. I didn't know the story about the woman on the front cover, from wiki:

The Black Sabbath album cover features a depiction of Mapledurham Watermill, situated on the River Thames in Oxfordshire, England. Standing in front of the watermill is a figure dressed in black.[17] The name of the woman pictured on the front cover is forgotten, though guitarist Iommi says that she once showed up backstage at a Black Sabbath show and introduced herself

Mike & Sally Oldfield Pekka Pohjola - s/t (aka The Mathematician's Air Display)
(1981, Happy Bird) Holland pressing

Originally released on Virgin in 1977 as The Mathematician's Air Display. Sounds like an Oldfield production with great sound quality and all sorts of sonic treats.

Led Zeppelin IV - Deluxe Edition

Disc two

You've got to hear the Stairway to Heaven alternate track on the second disc.

led-zep.jpg

IV ranked fairly low on my order of preference for Zep albums. Probably because it was overplayed way back when. Dunno.
Stairway to Heaven certainly was and I grew to despise it. What Jimmy Page presents here as an alternate version of 'Stairway
is nothing short of amazing. From the percussion clarity, the variations in the guitar leads and overlays, all the way to the way
Plant sings it - I'm sold !

'Four Sticks', my true favorite off this album is killer in alternate presentation too.

Those who enter the man cave will get WOPLed
I think they did a great job on the recent Led Zep vinyl remaster issues. I hope to get IV and Houses of the Holy recently released some day.

Iron Maiden~ Powerslave
UP THE IRONS! My first concert was Maiden during this tour and the album sure does bring back some fond memories.

Hank Mobley~ Roll Call
Great album from a great musician. Everyone needs a Hank album in their collection.

Grant Green Trio~ Remembering
Steer clear of this Jazz Wax 180g reissue- heavy surface noise after multiple cleanings. Gonna hit it with wood glue and clean again and see if it helps. Too bad, it's a good one for all of you Grant Green fans out there. Was going to pick up Grant Green~ Born To Be Blue, reissued from these folks, but may hold off if I can't get Remembering to sound a bit better.

Beastie Boys~ License to Ill
Sub gave up the ghost today while playing this album!

I've never seen him referred to as anything but Ozzy...
Well this was their debut record, it might not have been their call on what appeared on the label and they used his legal name?

I read on Wikipedia that they recorded this record in a single studio session:

-----------
Iommi said: "We just went in the studio and did it in a day, we played our live set and that was it. We actually thought a whole day was quite a long time, then off we went the next day to play for £20 in Switzerland."

Fondler errrr... fan of all Nav's avatars
Got this on a whim and glad I did. Probably one of the best heavy rock albums I ever heard. These guys were featured on the first Metal for Mutha's comp lp so they ended up classified as NWOBHM even though they had toured successfully for years before as a hard rock band. GREAT guitar playing on this album!!!! I would recommend this lp if you can get a clean copy. The white cover version is 1 of 1000 made. It was reissued w/ a black cover (2000 pressed) and a bonus 7" added, this is the original and comes with a tour book and another book

Lou Reed - Metal Machine Music

I don't mean to offend your taste in music... but.... (how can I put this delicately...)

This twin-disc set is an hour of pure noise! You can give yourself a good case of tinnitus if you're not careful with it!
