During the summer, I usually have the garage open all day when I am puttering around and the music is LOUD. The Police just drive by and wave. One stopped when I had a tagsale going and she commented that it was like being at a concert LOL. She asked that it be turned down by 10pm. I have learned it's best to play ball nicely with the 5.0 in town. The first day I moved here, I did a smokeshow up Snakehill Rd and continued it when I got to High St. Unfortunately, there was a guy outside screaming at me and pointing his finger. I just waved and continued to burn the tires off the rims up the hill. Debbie then informed me that it was a lieutenant for the Coventry PD. I drove home as fast as I could and hid the car in the gargae for a few days. Next time we took it out, I was immediately pulled over and said lieutenant was the one that pulled me over. He said "Nice car! and then proceeded to let me know he did not appreciate the smokeshow by his house. He's friends with Deb's family (an now a friend of mine to) so I did not get a ticket

Another time, Deb and I were out raising hell with the Firebird's chasing eachother up and down the street and generally making asses of ourselves. The entire Coventry PD showed up and we again were "chastised" amongst the grins from the arriving officers who admired the cars and questions about what was done to them. No tickets that time either but that's when we took the hint

Thanks Nando. I don't have a bunch of things laying around to test vs, but sometimes the differences are obvious, like in this case. I'm personally more interested in quality vs quantity and typically listen to levels that are more on par with what bobbysdad stated. I have found that over the years, reviewing takes a bit longer for me, since I prefer to "live with" the product for awhile. That way I can listen at any time of day or conditions. Sometimes I'll listen actively, but then other times I'll listen more passively and see if something grabs my attention. I also think that it's important that a piece of gear can be more informative, without altering tonal characteristics in order to judge fidelity. That's a much more difficult task with loudspeaker comparisons, because they are so tonally different. A matter of taste and fidelity are different things, but two sides of the same coin.

In the looks department, I'm a sucker for analog meters...
Me too. I pretty much know my systems limits and it's pluses. Been putting off putting the PT DAC in rotation it has a USB port. May make spend more money.

Nando's avatar does sort of remind my of an old Wild West man of the cloth... Father Nando.... I sort of like that! Wait a minute... are your really a priest Nando? I see that collar
Ron: Pretty close - I am Catholic, took catechism, and was an altar boy. However, I unsuccessfully tried convincing my parents our first born, before we were married, was an immaculate conception.

Ron (and other noobs) Nando's avatar came about because he was a little hesitant or indecisive, or just wanting the perfect avatar for too long. And of course this group being what it is , can't have that so Jer(bless his heart) came up with one FOR HIM(more caps Nando). Now Nando, being what he is, really did not want to be rude and played along. A week tops most of us thought and it would be replaced, but alas it grew on everyone and has been a permanent fixture since. Moral of this story, pic your avatar or we'll do it for ya!!

I have no intention of changing my avatar and thanks to Lee's historical flashback there you have a bit of folklore. It's rare if I ever have to use any of my moderation powers to quell any unsavoury postings, here, with that staring profile in your face, is there?

Dude :-o

I grew up the same way Catholic, I was not an alterboy but took catechism and served as a lecter (sp???) doing the first reading. Went to Catholic schools for 6 years in the 70s. Greyuniforms and nuns with rulers with a penchent for cracking knuckles, the real deal :evil4:

Ron: You didn't recognize Father Guido Sarducci? Surely, you watched SNL as a young gaffer? I came very close to becoming the most recent pope, until the criminal record check came through.

Driving a vehicle (in this case the hearse) while impaired. I blew over the legal limit. We don't always use the company vehicle for business use. Funny thing was, I was making a wine run before Easter.
