I was finally able to make my way to a new vintage/used audio store in my area today. Vintage Audio Exchange is owned and operated by Ed Parks and opened in March this year. Ed look to have very good taste in his used gear and is a great guy overall. I'd encourage any of you to give him a call or shoot over an email if you see something you're looking for. The first photo is Ed's business card with all his contact info.

Ed mentioned that he is picking up TWO sets of Klipsch Hereseys today!! Other highlights were quite a few cassette decks, RTR machines, a few SAE pieces, some older Kenwood and Macintosh gear, a few vintage tube testers and quite a few sets of speakers.

Ed's record selection was like stepping into a 70's to 890's record store!! I even bought a 1956 Verve LP of Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong!!

Check out his latest posting on eBay:

That's the craziest changer I've EVER seen in my life ! ! ! !

I'll try to answer any questions I can about the photos.

I live in near Columbia, SC- looks like a road trip may be necessary.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I hope his business thrives - I have no doubt it will. Does his store also service any of the gear prior to sale? If so, is there any warranty with the gear that is sold?

Funny you'd ask that question. Ed and I talked about this and he's struggling to find a Tech he can use. He tells me he has a unit with a shop over in Durham, NC that's been sitting there for over 9 months while the tech is "waiting for parts." Hopefully he'll find someone soon.

On another note, there's a local Tech that has more work than he can handle. I haven't met him but he lives not far from me. You can check out his Youtube channel at the link below. Last week he posted about an hour long video with Dennis Had, owner and founder of Cary Audio. Really good video and Dennis sounds like he's very realistic about audio in general. A MUST watch!!

Looks like a really great place. If I had a spare few grand lying around, I'd have to have that Thorens changer. I've only seen a few pictures of those, but every time I see one I want one.

Ed tried to explain how the changer works but I never did fully understand it. You can see it in that second picture sitting just left of center on top of that console.

It's a definite conversation starter!!
