Anyway, I need like 10 pair of good ICs. I have tried many and they work and sound similar but I have never tried a good set. I don't "get" cryo or spikes either... Except, I put spikes on my turntable and it helped because it was sitting on nothing, now at least it does not slide around on the table (no improvement to the sound).
I have a power conditioner and it has never let me down, it is a necessary part of my main system. Just a short story - About two years ago there was a bad storm in town and the power pole right outside took a direct hit, it sounded like a bomb went off outside (and I know what a bomb sounds like). My AC conditioner died (I think the rectifier smoked because there was no visible damage, it was just dead. Everything else was fine. My neighbor lost everything from TV set to refrigerator and all his stereo gear went into the trash.
I use Deoxit on everything, even the gold. I hate corrosion almost as much as you. I remember the helicopter guys treated it like the plague.
