So about a week ago I ran a craigslist ad in search of old stereo gear, I got a responce from a guy on the other side of town that said he had a old sansui receiver along with some other old stuff leftover from his dad who was into ham radios. This seemed promising so I figured I'd drive over to have a looksie at what he had. I'm glad I did. Out in his garage he had a nicotine and dirt stained 5000 receiver. That and a big ammo box full of ammeters wrapped in 1958 newspaper. I gave the guy $20 for the stuff and hauled it off..

the he receiver was pretty gross but working

After er a deep cleaning it shines like a new penny. I know the 5000a is a notorious smokebox but not sure about the 5000. So far so good.

I love those old "Stereo Tuner Amplifiers" Good job cleaning it up!
What kind of output power are we talking, 15-25 wpc or so?
