the best deck i've ever owned to date, -by a wide margin- and the best i'll likely ever own; (what with the pricing of similar TOTL models these days and all)

ELITE Series version (CT-91/91α)

EURO Market version (CT-939/939mk.II)

PIONEER "REFERENCE MASTER MECHANISM"

HEAD BLOCK (CT-S800/91/939)

INTERNALS (CT-S800)

INTERNALS (CT-91)

LAST CASSETTE RECORDED (4/15/18)
(1981/1983 MAXELL UDXL-II with personal GREATEST HITS selections from eight-volume "BUBBLEGUM CRISIS" Anime soundtrack (1987/1990))

Jealous. Did you find that stateside or bring it in from Japan? Seems like they have the coolest Pioneer gear over there.

That's a North American model number, the Japanese market was different I think and the difference would be there are Japanese characters on the back panel, even if it was a multivoltage unit (often those had the diamond E-P symbol that stands for military exchange available products IIRC). The model sold in Japan should be shown there...CT-939?
